The Sartell Muskies, hosts of the 2019 Region 11C Tournament, won two games over the weekend to qualify for the 2019 State Tournament held in Maple Lake and Delano. This the 8th consecutive trip to the state tournament for the Muskies and the 9th in past ten years. The Muskies won the class C state championship in 2013, the last time the tournament was hosted by Maple Lake and Delano. 

Eight teams from Sauk Valley and Central Valley Leagues make up the very competitive field of teams for the double elimination tournament. 

The Muskies used a dominant pitching performance by David Deminsky and good defense to win the tournament opener on Saturday against the Luxemburg Brewers 2-0. 

On Sunday, the Muskies again came out on top of a close game against the Watkins Clippers with a final score of 5-4. The game ended with both teams scoring runs in the late innings off the opposing team's relief pitchers and Watkins leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd to end the game.  

The Muskies move on in the winners bracket and play the Foley Lumberjack Friday August 9th at 7:30pm in a seeding game in Sartell. Foley won two games over the weekend to qualify for state as well.

Luxemburg plays the Cold Spring Rockies on Saturday in a state qualifying game, the winner advances the loser is eliminated. In the other elimination game on Saturday, Monticello takes on Watkins with a state tournament bid on the line in that game as well.
